Indian Flag On The Moon

The Indian flag is all set to mark its presence on the lunar surface for the first time on Friday as a moon probe with the tri-colour painted on it will detach from Chandrayaan-1 and descend onto the earth's natural satellite.

The 375 mm x 375 mm x 470 mm MIP is a honeycomb structure housing the subsystems and three instruments - radar altimeter, video imaging system and mass spectrometer. It weighs 35 kg.
"The Moon Impact Probe is expected to be detached (from Chandrayaan-1) at around 10 PM tomorrow," Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) spokesperson S Satish told PTI.Miniature Indian flags are painted on four sides of MIP.
"It will signify the entry of India on Moon," Satish said."During its 20-minute descent to the moon's surface, MIP will take pictures and transmit these back to the ground," he said.

MIP is one of the 11 scientific instruments (payloads) onboard Chandrayaan-1, India's first unmanned spacecraft mission to Moon launched on October 22.

The spacecraft yesterday reached its final orbital home, about 100 kms over the moon surface after ISRO scientists successfully carried out the last critical orbit lowering operation.

Developed by ISRO's Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre of Thiruvananthapuram, the primary objective of MIP is to demonstrate the technologies required for landing a probe at the desired location on the moon.

The probe will help qualify some of the technologies related to future soft landing missions. This apart, scientific exploration of the moon at close distance is also intended using MIP.

If Only I Could Know If Its Sunlight Or Moonlight

The magnificient sunrise, the dark forests, the deep blue lakes, the twinkling stars,birds,bees.... What man is he who has not stopped awhile to savour these? But just for one fleeting moment have we ever paused to thank god for the gift of eyes that made it possible for us to relish his creation? And have we spared a thought for those not so fortunate as we?

Do you know india has 15 million blind of which 34.7% have corneal blindness. Most of these can have their eyesight restored through simple surgery- corneal transplantation. Due to lack of donors, thousand in india have to wait for years in desperation.

All religions commend the spirit of eye donation as a noble way of serving god and humanity. And isn't it a wonderful thought that the loved ones live after death in someone else's body, giving that person the most wonderful gift of sight?

So friends do be a part of noble cause. It costs nothing but means everything to those bereft of the wonderful gift of sight.

Do Babies Produce Tears When They Cry???

Babies' eyes do not produce tears until the baby is approximately six to eight weeks old.
Although babies are often born expressing their opinion of such a hasty entrance into the world, all you're really going to see is waving limbs and a red face. Because while they can howl their little lungs out, they can't yet "cry".
That's not to say that an infant's eyes are in danger of drying out. They do produce enough moisture to keep the eyes coated. But not enough to cause a waterfall when they wail.
It takes anywhere from three to six weeks for a baby's tear ducts to develop to the point where crying will produce any significant amount of moisture, so the eyes overflow.
A tiny opening from the tear duct into the top of the nasal canal, allows tears to run down inside and disperse. Sometimes this opening has not developed enough by the time the tear ducts start producing excess moisture, and they can become clogged.
Tear ducts that are plugged, often show as discharge gathering in the corner of the eye. This can be resolved with gentle and frequent massage of the tear duct area.

Tiny Mouse Kills Deadly Snake

Whiskers twitching, the mouse stares into the jaws of death - and then pounces on them. The little fellow had no intention of being lunch for the deadly viper whose cage he had been thrown into. During a vicious 30-minute struggle the mouse tore at the serpent's head with its tiny paws and jaws, finally killing it.

Face-off: The snake and mouse stare each other down as battle commences

The mouse served up as lunch makes a counter-attack on the viper, leading to a 30-minute fight to the deathThe outcome amazed firemen in Nantou, Taiwan, who had rescued the footlong snake from a local home and taken it to their fire station as a pet. Fireman Lan Sengqiu said the snake might have used up all its venom trying to bite them when they caught it, adding: 'The mouse barely had a scratch on him.' Vipers have a pair of long hollow fangs, that are used to inject venom from glands at the back of the jaw. During a strike the mouth can open to nearly 180 degrees, and jaws snap shut on impact. Death is usually caused by a collapse in blood pressure from the venom. But snakes do have enemies. They can fall prey to large birds, wild boars, mongooses, raccoons, foxes, coyotes, other snakes. . . and apparently mice.

First Meal Of The Day

Breakfast means break the fast.It is your first meal of the day which should not be missed for any circumstances.

Think about it..As you have to go to the school/office you skip your breakfast and hurry up. By lunch your stomach is virtually growling. This is the time you just cannot resist a quick fix snack, an unhealthy choice that adds to unwanted calories in your daily intake.

Breakfast is very important to refuel your body after a night's sleep. While you are sleeping, the body needs to fuel to keep your heart beating, nerves transmitting and cells dividing. Much of the fuel comes from the readily available stores of glucose in the blood, liver and muscles. By sunrise, the body is essentially in a fasting mood. That first meal of the day literally breaks the fast. That's why breakfast is so important. If you skip breakfast, blood sugar levels drop and fatigue, poor concentration, irritability and lethargy are the results.

Skipping breakfast makes it harder for the bodyto lose weight. Your body's metabolism slows own during the night. When you forego breakfast, you lower your metabolic rate further. This also lowers your blood sugar level and makes you feel lethargic. You yourself then set the stage for impulsive snacking or eting king-sized portions for lunch or dinner.

Michael Jackson Turns 50

Michael turns 50 today, August 29. Here's wishing the Moonwalker the very, very best

As The Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame puts it, Michael Jackson 'has enjoyed a level of superstardom previously known only to Elvis Presley, the Beatles and Frank Sinatra.'

Stardom kicked in as early as 11.
The Jackson 5 was an enormously successful family act but even that Motown routine was just a grooming ground for much greater things. Jackson was the frontman for the 5, and by thirteen he was already churning out solo singles.

At age 14, his Ben -- for a film about a rat -- became Michael Jackson's first #1 single.

It was just the beginning.
In 1979, he released Off The Wall
In August 1979, a few weeks before Michael turned 21, he released his Off The Wall. With songwriters including Paul McCartney and Stevie Wonder, the album ricocheted up the charts. The first album to generate as many as four US Top 10 hits, the album spent over eights months in the Top Ten and eventually went on to sell 15 million copies.

Not bad for his first adult outing, one would think. But Jackson wasn't content, despite the Best Male R&B Vocal Performance Grammy he won for the album's Don't stop 'til you get enough.

All he said was that the next album would be bigger.
Thriller conquered the world .

Jackson was 24 when he released the biggest-selling music album of all time, Wikipedia ranking it as the only album selling over 100 million copies, conservatively pegging the figure at 108 million, even though some estimate it to be more in the region of 134 million. (Just for contrast, the second highest-selling album is AC/DC's Back in Black, selling the comparatively paltry figure of 42 million.)
Jackson's voice soars all over the melody, Eddie Van Halen checks in with a blistering guitar solo, you could build a convention center on the backbeat, and the result is one nifty dance song,' Rolling Stone wrote in their 1983 review of Thriller to describe a song.
A song called Beat It. A song that changed music forever.

Michael hit gold and never looked back.
A ridiculously lightfooted dancer talented enough to be called revolutionary, Jackson followed up Thriller with hit albums like Bad and Dangerous, and became the world's greatest stage performer.

In 1993, his performance at the halftime intermission of Superbowl XXVII drew the largest viewing audience in American television history -- the footballers clearly appreciated the help. He can still rock a stage -- and a microphone -- like nobody else ever quite could.

And then things crashed.
That very same year, a child-abuse suit is filed against him. The plastic surgery machine goes into overdrive. The album sales decline. Michael is acquited. The new albums can't generate enough buzz. His nose falls off. Somewhere in the middle he dangles a baby from a window. Chimpanzees, divorces and a string of crazy rumours and television tell-all documentaries further sensationalise all things Jacko.
Today, in every way, Michael Jackson is a pale imitation of his former megastar self.

That doesn't mean that if he decides to perform at Madison Square Garden tomorrow, you wouldn't want to be there. He can still rock a stage -- and a microphone -- like nobody else ever quite could.

Happy 50th Birthday, Michael. May you come back to us in all your glory. Believe in yourself. Just... Remember The Time?

Types Of Infection on Computer

There are different types of electronic infections which affects the computer or the software's installed in the computer. The most common infections are:

Viruses:

A virus is a small piece of software that piggybacks from a real program. For example a virus might attach itself to a program such as spreadsheet program. Each time the spreadsheet program runs, the virus runs to reproduce or wreak havoc.

E-Mail Viruses:
An email virus moves around in email messages and usually replicates itself by automatically mailing itself to dozens of people in the victims email address book.

Worms:
A worm is a small piece of software that uses computer networks and security holes to replicate itself. A copy of worm scans the network for another machine that has a specific security hole. It copies the security hole, and then starts replicating from there as well.

Trojan Horses:
A Trojan horse is simply a computer program. The program claims to do one thing but instead does damage when you run it. Trojan horses have no way to replicate itself.

People create viruses. A person has to write the code, test it to make sure it spreads properly and then release the virus. A person also design the viruses attack phase, whether it's a silly message or destruction of hard disk. So why do people do it???

There are at least three reasons :
  • The first is the same psychology that drives vandals and arsonists. Why would someone want to bust the window or spray signs on buildings or burn down a beautiful format? For some people that seems to be a thrill. When that sort of a person happens to know computer programming then he/she may funnel energy in to the creation of destructive viruses.
  • The second reason has to do with the thrill of watching blow up. Many people have a fascination with things like explosion. Creating a virus that spreads quickly is a little like that it create a a bomb inside a computer.
  • The third reason probably involves bragging rights or the thrill of doing it. Imagine that you are a certain type of programmer and you see a security hole that could be exploited. You could "Tell" someone about the hole. But couldn't it be better to "Show" them the hole?.That sort of logic leads to many viruses.

Destroying everything on a person's hard disk is a real damage. Forcing company to waste thousands of hours in cleaning up after a virus is real damage.Even a silly message is real damage because a person then has to waste time getting rid of it. For this reason the legal system is getting much harsher in punishing the people who create viruses
