Roger Federer, the man with already 12 Grand Slam titles by his side has registered the 13th title by capturing the U.S.Open on tuesday. This win was Federer's fifth consecutive win in the U.S.Open. Federer who belongs to the country of Switz has already won consecutively for 5 times in the Wimbledon is to be noted.
Pete Sampras has a record of winning maximum number of Grand Slam titles. Sampras has won a total of 14 titles and Federer needs just one more win to share the 1st place with him. Federer has won U.S.Open consecutively in the years of 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2008. He won Wimbledon in the years 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006 and 2007. Federer also has won the Australian Open for 3 times in the years 2004, 2006 and 2007. On tuesday in the finals Federer registered his title by winning against Andy Murray of Britain.
